She is so glad to find her passion in theater at such a young age, as well as be able to share her art with the people she loves. Jillian loves to teach, direct, and most importantly, learn from the other talented people around her.

Tim Brandt

Lighting Designer

Tim Brandt is excited to create theater magic with GPA. He has always had a passion for technical theater, being involved with local churches and theater groups since 1995, joining the Grand Performing Arts team in 2014. Tim has had his hands in theatrical sound, lighting, video, special effects, technical direction and production design, and has settled into stage lighting design which presents a perfect balance of science and art… and ultimate control bwahahaha. Tim studied computer science and stage lighting at UC Davis, and sound arts at SAE Expression College in Emeryville. A software programmer by day, a lighting designer by night, and a foodie 24/7.

Mikayla Freeman

Mikayla has been doing theatre since she was 6, and has been dancing since she could walk, but competitively since she was nine, having recently won 1st overall in her solo. She also made it to state with choreography in the nationwide art competition, Reflections. In the summer of 2019, Mikayla choreographed 13 the Musical, and in summer of 2018, a summer camp production of You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Mikayla has been doing productions with GPA since 2013, and has loved every minute of it. She also enjoys science, playing the ukulele and guitar, and has always loved working with and leading others, dancing, and being creative.

Benjamin Salazar

Ben has been singing and acting for 7 years. His first lead role was Tweedle Dum in GPA’s performance of Alice in Wonderland. Since then he’s acted in every GPA show. Some of his favorite roles include: The Steward in Into the Woods, The Candy Man in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Lefou in Beauty and the Beast. When Ben joined GPA he was immediately addicted to the warm, loving and accepting atmosphere. He feels honored to have the opportunity to be on staff working with the other members and the kids. Ben hopes to pursue acting as a profession in the future.
